Jewelry Care
Fine jewelry by Honey Drip are pieces of art made with natural and delicate materials, and like all art, should be handled with respect and care. Kindly note the jewelry care tips and repair policies below.
Silver is of the earth- it's alive and meant to move with you. Because it's a natural material, expect your silver pieces to develop their own character over time. This can occur via oxidation (a darkening over time caused by a chemical-reaction) and micro scratches and denting over time with wear. These are normal characteristics of silver over time. To keep the original appearance of your silver jewelry, we recommend the below:
- Remove your silver jewelry before showering, swimming, or other expected contact with water to reduce the likelihood that your piece will tarnish.
- Avoid contact with harsh soaps, cleaners, and cosmetics.
Honey Drip designs fine jewelry with diamonds and gemstones with varying levels of stability and Mohs hardness. Regardless of stone type, we recommend the below general guidelines for caring for your diamond and gemstone jewelry:
- Remove your gemstone jewelry before showering, swimming, or other expected contact with water to reduce the likelihood that the colors in your stones, particularly semi precious and some precious stones, will change.
- Avoid contact with harsh soaps, cleaners, and cosmetics, as they can cause a stone's colors to change over time.
- While diamonds are a level 10 on the hardness scale, they are not completely resistant to damage or breaking. Be careful as not to knock your hands on doors or other hard surfaces while in use, as these accidents can chip both diamonds and gemstones.
- Store your diamond and gemstone jewelry in a soft, safe place when not in use.
Like any piece of adornment, clothing, or object which is used both frequently (and sometimes infrequently, depending on may factors-- such as accidents or lifestyle), normal wear and tear should be expected with your jewelry over time. It is the responsibility of the owner to handle with care and wear responsibly. Honey Drip Jewelry is not responsible for covering costs associated with the below:
- Broken chains on necklaces or rings
- Rings and shanks that have bent over time to the wearer's finger
- Stones that have changed color over time
- Chipped stones
- Snapped prongs
- Scratches and other signs of ownership and common wear
